1. Open your pod URL in a modern browser over HTTPS.
2. Enter the text and choose a format and expiration. Add a password or burn after reading if appropriate.
3. Create the paste and copy its full sharing link. Keep the separate delete link if you may want to remove it early.

There is no application account to create for the normal paste workflow. Anyone with an unprotected paste’s full link can decrypt it. See the PrivateBin overview and deletion FAQ.

No. PikaPods sets up and runs PrivateBin for you, including OS and app updates and HTTPS. You won't touch Docker or a server. Your files and database stay accessible if you ever want to move them elsewhere.

Use a modern browser on your phone or computer with JavaScript and the Web Crypto API enabled. Normal paste sharing needs no separate account, client purchase or external API key. Community command-line clients can also target your instance, but a plain curl download does not decrypt a paste. Check current compatibility before choosing a third-party client.

PikaPods’ setup instructions direct you to edit conf.php over SFTP. Consult the configuration guide for options such as expiry choices, discussions and file uploads. Attachments are optional and disabled in the upstream default configuration; do not assume uploads are already enabled on your pod. No external storage account is needed for the default filesystem storage.

Set up incremental backups to S3 in your pod settings for automatic nightly snapshots, or download your files and database yourself. We keep whole-server backups for server failures, but they aren't a per-pod restore service, so your own backup is what protects your data.

You can use PrivateBin instead of Pastebin and Privnote. PikaPods runs it for you, and you can move your files and database elsewhere.

Paste text, attached files and discussion contents are encrypted in the browser. The generated key stays in the URL fragment after #; anyone who gets the full link can read an unprotected paste. A password adds protection, but should be shared separately.

Some metadata, including expiry settings and timing, remains visible, and server access logs can reveal visitors. You must also trust the operator not to deliver modified browser code. No. These options govern the paste stored by PrivateBin, not screenshots or copies already saved by a reader. Keep the delete link if you need to remove a paste early; without it, you generally need to wait for expiry. See paste deletion.

No. You add prepaid credit and your pods are billed by the hour from that balance, rounded up to full hours. There are no contracts or minimum terms: delete a pod anytime and billing stops. Optional automatic top-ups keep your pods running without manual payments.

You do. And you're in full control. If you ever want to download, migrate, edit or delete your data, just enable file and database access for your pod and it will be right there.
