Pocket ID Hosting

1. Open your pod URL with /setup added to the end.
2. Create the first administrator account and register a passkey when prompted.
3. Create an OIDC client for an app you want to connect, then enter its connection details in that app’s OIDC settings.

The setup page is only available before the first account exists. Follow the installation guide and app connection guide.

No. PikaPods sets up and runs Pocket ID for you, including OS and app updates and HTTPS. You won't touch Docker or a server. Your files and database stay accessible if you ever want to move them elsewhere.

Use a browser and passkey provider that support WebAuthn, such as a compatible phone, password manager or security key. Apps need OpenID Connect support to connect directly; Pocket ID is not itself a general-purpose authentication proxy for apps without OIDC. Those need a separately configured proxy. See the introduction and client examples.

A paid identity-provider account is not required for Pocket ID’s own passkey sign-in. Your users need a compatible way to store their passkeys; a paid password manager or hardware key is optional. Email features require your own SMTP configuration, and a mail provider may charge separately. See user management and the email settings.

Set up incremental backups to S3 in your pod settings for automatic nightly snapshots, or download your files and database yourself. We keep whole-server backups for server failures, but they aren't a per-pod restore service, so your own backup is what protects your data.

You can use Pocket ID instead of Auth0 and Okta. PikaPods runs it for you, and you can move your files and database elsewhere.

Auth0 is a hosted platform with many login methods and enterprise features. Pocket ID is much smaller: passkeys and OpenID Connect for your own apps, with users and groups, on your pod. If you need password login, social sign-in or SAML, choose a larger identity provider instead.

No. It verifies passkeys to sign people in to connected apps; it is not a vault for storing the passwords or data inside those apps. A password manager may be one place to store the passkeys you use with Pocket ID.

No. You add prepaid credit and your pods are billed by the hour from that balance, rounded up to full hours. There are no contracts or minimum terms: delete a pod anytime and billing stops. Optional automatic top-ups keep your pods running without manual payments.

You do. And you're in full control. If you ever want to download, migrate, edit or delete your data, just enable file and database access for your pod and it will be right there.
