1. Open your pod URL promptly and complete the registration form for the initial host account.
2. Sign in as that first user, who administers the instance, and review the registration settings before inviting others.
3. Write your first memo, add any hashtags directly in the text, and save it to your timeline.

No. PikaPods sets up and runs Memos for you, including OS and app updates and HTTPS. You won't touch Docker or a server. Your files and database stay accessible if you ever want to move them elsewhere.

Open the same pod URL in a phone, tablet or desktop browser; no separate app is required. Memos 0.31 also provides an official Web Clipper for Chrome and Firefox for saving pages, selections and images. For scripted capture and compatible third-party tools, create a personal access token in your user settings and follow the API access guide. Client support and prices are determined by each third-party app.

No external account is needed for core notes, Markdown, tags, attachments or API access. Optional integrations with outside services require their own accounts and may have separate fees; an AI subscription is not needed to write and organize memos.

Set up incremental backups to S3 in your pod settings for automatic nightly snapshots, or download your files and database yourself. We keep whole-server backups for server failures, but they aren't a per-pod restore service, so your own backup is what protects your data.

You can use Memos instead of Evernote and Google Keep. PikaPods runs it for you, and you can move your files and database elsewhere.

Evernote organizes longer notes into notebooks, with web clipping and tasks across its own apps. Memos is simpler: a timeline of short Markdown entries, organized by hashtags, on your pod. Choose it if you mostly capture quick thoughts, and check how you'd bring across existing notes, since Evernote exports need converting.

No. You add prepaid credit and your pods are billed by the hour from that balance, rounded up to full hours. There are no contracts or minimum terms: delete a pod anytime and billing stops. Optional automatic top-ups keep your pods running without manual payments.

You do. And you're in full control. If you ever want to download, migrate, edit or delete your data, just enable file and database access for your pod and it will be right there.
