1. Open your pod and complete the account setup for the initial administrator.
2. Upload your own files with PikaPods SFTP; they are available under /data in the pod.
3. Create a library in Komga, select its folder under /data and scan it to import the series and books.

Keep each series in a consistent folder structure so Komga can group it correctly. See the Komga documentation for library and metadata behavior.

No. PikaPods sets up and runs Komga for you, including OS and app updates and HTTPS. You won't touch Docker or a server. Your files and database stay accessible if you ever want to move them elsewhere.

You can use the responsive web interface directly, connect an OPDS v1 or v2 compatible reader, or use the documented KOReader and Kobo synchronization features. Third-party apps and e-readers are not included and can have separate costs; follow the client documentation for the integration you choose.

No book catalogue or third-party reader purchase is included; you supply your own files. Core browsing, metadata import and reading work without a paid external account. Any store purchases, premium reader apps or external tools you choose remain separate.

Set up incremental backups to S3 in your pod settings for automatic nightly snapshots, or download your files and database yourself. We keep whole-server backups for server failures, but they aren't a per-pod restore service, so your own backup is what protects your data.

You can use Komga instead of BookFusion. PikaPods runs it for you, and you can move your files and database elsewhere.

Both serve your own comics, manga and books, with web readers and OPDS. Komga leans towards comics and series, and it has Kobo and KOReader sync. Its metadata scraping comes through separate community tools, while Kavita offers built-in scraping through a paid subscription. Each is available on PikaPods, so you could try both with a small folder.

No. You add prepaid credit and your pods are billed by the hour from that balance, rounded up to full hours. There are no contracts or minimum terms: delete a pod anytime and billing stops. Optional automatic top-ups keep your pods running without manual payments.

You do. And you're in full control. If you ever want to download, migrate, edit or delete your data, just enable file and database access for your pod and it will be right there.
