Navidrome Hosting

1. Open your pod URL and create the first administrator account.
2. Enable SFTP for your pod and upload your music files into /music.
3. Wait for the library scan, then open an album and start listening.

Navidrome has no built-in music uploader. The getting-started guide explains the first account and scan; the PikaPods notes cover hosted folders and scan settings. For additional libraries, use separate folders under /libraries rather than nesting them inside /music.

No. PikaPods sets up and runs Navidrome for you, including OS and app updates and HTTPS. You won't touch Docker or a server. Your files and database stay accessible if you ever want to move them elsewhere.

Use your pod’s HTTPS URL and Navidrome credentials in a compatible Subsonic or OpenSubsonic client. The client directory lists options for iOS, Android and desktop systems. Some clients charge separately, and features such as offline downloads and gapless playback depend on the client.

No. You provide the audio files you want to stream; Navidrome organizes them using their existing tags. It does not edit file tags, so prepare them in a separate tag editor when needed. Optional scrobbling services need their own accounts; see the official FAQ.

Set up incremental backups to S3 in your pod settings for automatic nightly snapshots, or download your files and database yourself. We keep whole-server backups for server failures, but they aren't a per-pod restore service, so your own backup is what protects your data.

You can use Navidrome instead of Plex and YouTube Music. PikaPods runs it for you, and you can move your files and database elsewhere.

Plex covers film and TV as well as music, while Navidrome is only a music server. It works with Subsonic-compatible players, so you choose the phone or desktop app that suits you. Its library comes from your file tags and it has no tag editor, so fix them before uploading.

No. You add prepaid credit and your pods are billed by the hour from that balance, rounded up to full hours. There are no contracts or minimum terms: delete a pod anytime and billing stops. Optional automatic top-ups keep your pods running without manual payments.

You do. And you're in full control. If you ever want to download, migrate, edit or delete your data, just enable file and database access for your pod and it will be right there.
