Kavita Hosting
Managed Kavita, ready in under a minute.
Kavita is an open source reading server for ebooks, comics, manga and webtoons. Browse your own collection by series and metadata, organize items into collections and reading lists, and continue reading through responsive readers designed for phones, tablets and desktops. It suits readers who already own a digital collection, especially one that mixes comics and books.
Support for CBZ, CBR, archive and image-based comics alongside EPUB and PDF books keeps different reading formats in one library. Separate user accounts, roles and age restrictions help you share a collection while retaining control over access, and each user gets an OPDS link for compatible reading apps. Kavita does not supply books, upstream still labels it beta before version 1.0, and built-in online metadata downloads need the paid Kavita+ subscription.
It is an alternative to Google Play Books and BookFusion.

What users say about Kavita
Summarized from public community discussions about Kavita, not about PikaPods.
Strong reading core
Readers praise Kavita for reading comics and manga, and one comparison with Komga calls it the more all-round choice for libraries that also hold EPUB and PDF books, with a web reader that works well on a tablet (reading experience, Komga comparison).
Metadata costs extra
Discussions note that metadata scraping and scrobbling sit behind the paid Kavita+ subscription. One reply suggests paying for automatic updates, while another recommends Komga with a separate metadata tool (paywall comment, Kavita+ suggestion).
