Open your pod and complete the administrator account wizard when prompted. Create a library using the /books folder exposed by PikaPods, then upload your book files or use /bookdrop to stage imports for review. The getting-started guide explains account creation, libraries and importing.

No. PikaPods sets up and runs Grimmory for you, including OS and app updates and HTTPS. You won't touch Docker or a server. Your files and database stay accessible if you ever want to move them elsewhere.

You can read through the browser or enable OPDS in Settings to connect compatible reading apps such as KOReader or Moon+ Reader. OPDS uses its own user accounts created in the OPDS settings, so do not assume your normal login automatically works there. See the client setup overview.

You provide your own ebook, comic and audiobook files; Grimmory does not include a book catalogue. The core application does not require a Grimmory subscription. Online metadata fetching needs internet access, and external reader apps or optional integrations may have their own requirements. See the getting-started guide.

Set up incremental backups to S3 in your pod settings for automatic nightly snapshots, or download your files and database yourself. We keep whole-server backups for server failures, but they aren't a per-pod restore service, so your own backup is what protects your data.

You can use Grimmory instead of BookFusion and Google Play Books. PikaPods runs it for you, and you can move your files and database elsewhere.

Both keep your own books in a library you can read across devices. BookFusion is a hosted service with storage limits set by plan and its own reading apps. Grimmory stores your files on your pod, reads them in a browser and connects other apps through OPDS. It handles audiobooks as well, so check how each suits your formats.

No. You add prepaid credit and your pods are billed by the hour from that balance, rounded up to full hours. There are no contracts or minimum terms: delete a pod anytime and billing stops. Optional automatic top-ups keep your pods running without manual payments.

You do. And you're in full control. If you ever want to download, migrate, edit or delete your data, just enable file and database access for your pod and it will be right there.

Yes. Grimmory is part of our Green Heart program, so part of the revenue from every deployed pod goes to the project.
