1. Open your pod and register your first user account in the web interface. PikaPods specifies that there is no default login.
2. Create a project, add a few tasks and choose a list, kanban, table or Gantt view.
3. Add dates and labels as needed. To work with other people, have them register on the same pod and share the project with their accounts or a team.

No. PikaPods sets up and runs Vikunja for you, including OS and app updates and HTTPS. You won't touch Docker or a server. Your files and database stay accessible if you ever want to move them elsewhere.

Use the web app on a phone, tablet or computer, and install it as a progressive web app where your browser supports it. The desktop app supports Linux, macOS and Windows: select Custom Server, enter your pod URL and complete sign-in in the browser.

For task sync, the CalDAV guide lists Apple Reminders, Tasks.org, OpenTasks with DAVx5, Evolution and KOrganizer. Copy your own connection URL from Settings rather than guessing it, and use a dedicated CalDAV token with two-factor or external sign-in. CalDAV is marked early alpha, client support varies and it does not carry every Vikunja field; third-party apps can have their own charges.

Core task management and project sharing do not require a Vikunja Cloud account or Pro subscription. Email delivery needs configured outgoing mail; do not rely on email reminders or password-reset messages until delivery is set up.

Vikunja Pro is a separate, optional paid offering for instance-wide administration, time tracking and audit logs. Those features are not promised with your pod. Pro's admin setup also requires server-side configuration and a CLI promotion, so check hosted compatibility before purchasing a license for use here.

Set up incremental backups to S3 in your pod settings for automatic nightly snapshots, or download your files and database yourself. We keep whole-server backups for server failures, but they aren't a per-pod restore service, so your own backup is what protects your data.

You can use Vikunja instead of Todoist, Trello and Asana. PikaPods runs it for you, and you can move your files and database elsewhere.

Both track projects, due dates, reminders and recurring tasks. Todoist has polished apps built around quick capture. Vikunja adds board, table and Gantt views of the same tasks, on your own pod. See its documentation for clients and setup, and check that they suit how you work before switching.

No. You add prepaid credit and your pods are billed by the hour from that balance, rounded up to full hours. There are no contracts or minimum terms: delete a pod anytime and billing stops. Optional automatic top-ups keep your pods running without manual payments.

You do. And you're in full control. If you ever want to download, migrate, edit or delete your data, just enable file and database access for your pod and it will be right there.
