Open your pod and use the initial login described in PikaPods' post-install instructions. Add your own user account before relying on the instance for personal bookmarks, then save a URL or import a Netscape bookmark file. The initial account is for setup, not a password to reuse for your own account.

No. PikaPods sets up and runs Shiori for you, including OS and app updates and HTTPS. You won't touch Docker or a server. Your files and database stay accessible if you ever want to move them elsewhere.

Use your pod's web interface on a computer or phone. Version 1.8 includes PWA sharing support on compatible devices. The companion Shiori Web Extension can connect to your pod URL and account; it is beta software, and its documentation ties extension versions to supported server versions. Check compatibility before depending on it, particularly outside Firefox.

The core bookmark manager does not require a separate cloud account or paid API. You can use the web interface without buying a companion app. Saved archives live on the server; they do not mean that the web interface is available without an internet connection or that every login-protected or heavily scripted page can be captured.

Set up incremental backups to S3 in your pod settings for automatic nightly snapshots, or download your files and database yourself. We keep whole-server backups for server failures, but they aren't a per-pod restore service, so your own backup is what protects your data.

You can use Shiori instead of Raindrop.io and Pinboard. PikaPods runs it for you, and you can move your files and database elsewhere.

Raindrop.io is a hosted bookmark manager with collections and polished apps. Shiori is smaller: tags, search and saved article text on your pod, with Netscape bookmark files to move things in or out. It has fewer organizing tools, so it suits people who want something simple.

No. You add prepaid credit and your pods are billed by the hour from that balance, rounded up to full hours. There are no contracts or minimum terms: delete a pod anytime and billing stops. Optional automatic top-ups keep your pods running without manual payments.

You do. And you're in full control. If you ever want to download, migrate, edit or delete your data, just enable file and database access for your pod and it will be right there.
