First configure the connection to your existing IMAP and SMTP servers, using the hostnames, ports and authentication method supplied by your email provider. The official container configuration guide explains the mail-server settings.

Then open your pod and sign in with your email account username, usually your full email address, and its password or provider-approved authentication method. These are mailbox credentials, not your PikaPods login. Roundcube does not create a new email account for you; the login guide describes this distinction.

No. PikaPods sets up and runs Roundcube for you, including OS and app updates and HTTPS. You won't touch Docker or a server. Your files and database stay accessible if you ever want to move them elsewhere.

Yes. Roundcube needs an IMAP mailbox to read mail and an SMTP service to send it. PikaPods supplies neither mailboxes nor email sending; your existing provider may charge separately and set its own quotas. Use encrypted mail connections and an SMTP submission port such as 465 or 587, because PikaPods blocks port 25. Some providers require app passwords or OAuth configuration rather than a normal account password, so check compatibility before relying on a connection.

Open your pod URL in a phone browser to use Roundcube's responsive web interface. A desktop or native phone mail app normally connects directly to your IMAP/SMTP provider, not to the Roundcube pod. Both clients can work with the same mailbox; Roundcube is the browser interface, not a separate synchronization server.

Set up incremental backups to S3 in your pod settings for automatic nightly snapshots, or download your files and database yourself. We keep whole-server backups for server failures, but they aren't a per-pod restore service, so your own backup is what protects your data.

You can use Roundcube instead of Microsoft Outlook. PikaPods runs it for you, and you can move your files and database elsewhere.

No. It replaces the mail-reading and composing interface, not mailbox hosting, domain email delivery or a full office suite. Calendar and multi-account extensions are separate plugins rather than features to assume are bundled with your pod. Check hosted compatibility before depending on a particular plugin.

Use the search menu to choose fields such as sender, recipient, subject or body, and select the current folder, its subfolders or all folders as the scope. No. You add prepaid credit and your pods are billed by the hour from that balance, rounded up to full hours. There are no contracts or minimum terms: delete a pod anytime and billing stops. Optional automatic top-ups keep your pods running without manual payments.

You do. And you're in full control. If you ever want to download, migrate, edit or delete your data, just enable file and database access for your pod and it will be right there.
