2. From the dashboard, choose Add your first contact and enter at least a first name.
3. Add relationships, birthdays or a conversation when you are ready; annual reminders can be added to relevant dates.

No. PikaPods sets up and runs Monica for you, including OS and app updates and HTTPS. You won't touch Docker or a server. Your files and database stay accessible if you ever want to move them elsewhere.

Open your pod URL in a phone, tablet or desktop browser to use the same account and contact history. No separate native app is required for the web interface. Monica 4.1 also documents CardDAV contact and CalDAV calendar support for compatible apps; setup varies by client, and third-party apps may charge separately. See the release feature overview.

Email reminders and user invitations need an SMTP service configured through the pod’s environment settings; the provider may charge separately. PikaPods checks for pending reminders every two hours, but delivery will not work without a valid email configuration. You can still maintain contacts and view dates in the web app. See the PikaPods email notes.

Set up incremental backups to S3 in your pod settings for automatic nightly snapshots, or download your files and database yourself. We keep whole-server backups for server failures, but they aren't a per-pod restore service, so your own backup is what protects your data.

You can use Monica instead of Dex and Mesh. PikaPods runs it for you, and you can move your files and database elsewhere.

Both remind you to keep in touch and hold notes about people. Dex is a hosted service that connects to your other accounts. Monica is built for personal relationships, with family links, life events, debts and gifts, and you add most details yourself. Choose it if you'd rather keep this history in your own instance than sync from elsewhere.

No. You add prepaid credit and your pods are billed by the hour from that balance, rounded up to full hours. There are no contracts or minimum terms: delete a pod anytime and billing stops. Optional automatic top-ups keep your pods running without manual payments.

You do. And you're in full control. If you ever want to download, migrate, edit or delete your data, just enable file and database access for your pod and it will be right there.
