Use the administrator account configured for your pod. Upstream’s recommended first-run setup creates and activates it from ADMIN_EMAIL, ADMIN_USERNAME and ADMIN_PASSWORD on the initial startup. A normal web signup does not automatically grant admin rights and may wait for approval. If no administrator was provisioned, resolve that setup before opening registration to others; the first-user guide explains the available routes.

No. PikaPods sets up and runs Slink for you, including OS and app updates and HTTPS. You won't touch Docker or a server. Your files and database stay accessible if you ever want to move them elsewhere.

You can use your pod’s website from a browser. On Windows, Slink can generate a ShareX uploader configuration from a personal API key. Create the key in your profile and keep it private; the API key guide links to the ShareX setup. Other tools can upload through the documented API, but they are not preconfigured integrations.

A published share can normally be opened by anyone who has its link, unless you add a password or require sign-in. Copying an image link in the UI publishes that share, and collection shares are published when created. Review the share controls before sending sensitive images. This is access control, not end-to-end encryption.

Local storage is supported, so a separate storage-provider account is not required for basic use. Optional S3 or SMB storage requires your own service and configuration; provider charges may apply. Those external storage connections are not assumed to be bundled or configured on your pod.

Set up incremental backups to S3 in your pod settings for automatic nightly snapshots, or download your files and database yourself. We keep whole-server backups for server failures, but they aren't a per-pod restore service, so your own backup is what protects your data.

You can use Slink instead of Imgur. PikaPods runs it for you, and you can move your files and database elsewhere.

Imgur is a public image community supported by ads. Slink has no public audience: it hosts images on your pod, with tags, collections and password-protected links and ShareX uploads. You also decide who can sign up, using its approval option for new users.

No. You add prepaid credit and your pods are billed by the hour from that balance, rounded up to full hours. There are no contracts or minimum terms: delete a pod anytime and billing stops. Optional automatic top-ups keep your pods running without manual payments.

You do. And you're in full control. If you ever want to download, migrate, edit or delete your data, just enable file and database access for your pod and it will be right there.
