Open your pod URL and create the new superadmin account when prompted, as described in PikaPods' setup instructions. Use this account to configure your instance, then create a base or project and its first table.

Add fields for the information you want to track, enter a few records, and create the views you need. The getting-started guide explains tables, relationships, imports and views; its separate NocoDB Cloud signup instructions do not apply to your pod.

No. PikaPods sets up and runs NocoDB for you, including OS and app updates and HTTPS. You won't touch Docker or a server. Your files and database stay accessible if you ever want to move them elsewhere.

Yes. NocoDB can create tables from CSV, Excel or JSON data, and supports importing an Airtable base. It can also connect to supported external databases, but you must supply the connection details and ensure the database is reachable from your pod; not every connector or capability is available in every edition. Start with the data-import guidance or review the integration documentation before connecting a live database.

No. NocoDB separates its Community Edition from paid self-hosted plans, and some capabilities described in the general documentation require a commercial license. For example, personal views require a qualifying paid plan. Review the feature's availability notes and current plans before depending on paid capabilities; a pod does not by itself establish that an add-on license is active.

The current software uses a Sustainable Use License, not an OSI-approved open-source license. Internal use is permitted under its terms, while providing NocoDB access to external customers or reselling it can require a separate commercial agreement. See the licensing guide.

Set up incremental backups to S3 in your pod settings for automatic nightly snapshots, or download your files and database yourself. We keep whole-server backups for server failures, but they aren't a per-pod restore service, so your own backup is what protects your data.

You can use NocoDB instead of Airtable and Smartsheet. PikaPods runs it for you, and you can move your files and database elsewhere.

Both give you linked records, multiple views and forms on top of tables. Airtable is a hosted service with its own app-building platform. NocoDB runs on your pod and offers a REST API for connecting other tools, with some features reserved for paid plans. Its Sustainable Use License limits how you can offer it to others, so check the license if you plan to resell it.

No. You add prepaid credit and your pods are billed by the hour from that balance, rounded up to full hours. There are no contracts or minimum terms: delete a pod anytime and billing stops. Optional automatic top-ups keep your pods running without manual payments.

You do. And you're in full control. If you ever want to download, migrate, edit or delete your data, just enable file and database access for your pod and it will be right there.
