1. Click Open Pod in PikaPods, then choose Get started on Homarr’s onboarding screen.
2. Create the first administrator, choose your language and theme, and review the capabilities Homarr detects.
3. Name your first board and choose its colors and layout. Add reachable integrations now, or skip them and connect services later.
4. Review the summary and build the board. You can then add app shortcuts and widgets in board edit mode.

No. PikaPods sets up and runs Homarr for you, including OS and app updates and HTTPS. You won't touch Docker or a server. Your files and database stay accessible if you ever want to move them elsewhere.

Yes. Open your pod URL in a browser on your phone, tablet or computer; no separate client is required. You can arrange apps and widgets with a mouse or a finger.

Boards have Base and Mobile layouts, with optional additional breakpoints. Adjust the mobile layout in board edit mode when you want a different arrangement on smaller screens; see the v2 board guide.

Basic app shortcuts and standalone widgets do not need an external account. Integration widgets require the target service and whatever account, token or API key that service supports. External services and APIs may have their own costs.

Your pod must be able to reach each service from its own network; addresses on a private home network are not automatically reachable from a hosted pod. Add the connection under Manage → Integrations and test it before adding dependent widgets. Follow the integration checklist and each service’s guide.

Set up incremental backups to S3 in your pod settings for automatic nightly snapshots, or download your files and database yourself. We keep whole-server backups for server failures, but they aren't a per-pod restore service, so your own backup is what protects your data.

You can use Homarr instead of Start.me. PikaPods runs it for you, and you can move your files and database elsewhere.

Both organize your service links, widgets and status on one page, and both run on PikaPods. Homarr leans on drag-and-drop boards, deep integrations and user permissions. Dashy offers a visual editor and YAML settings with many themes. Start with whichever matches how you prefer to configure things.

No. You add prepaid credit and your pods are billed by the hour from that balance, rounded up to full hours. There are no contracts or minimum terms: delete a pod anytime and billing stops. Optional automatic top-ups keep your pods running without manual payments.

You do. And you're in full control. If you ever want to download, migrate, edit or delete your data, just enable file and database access for your pod and it will be right there.
