Allow a minute or two for the first startup, then open your pod. Sign in with the administrator email and password configured for your pod; the project’s deployment notes explain that the initial administrator is created from the configured account settings. Add reader accounts from the administration interface and share their login details directly. The Haven FAQ explains reader invitations.

No. PikaPods sets up and runs Haven for you, including OS and app updates and HTTPS. You won't touch Docker or a server. Your data stays available over SFTP if you ever want to move it elsewhere.

Readers can sign in through a web browser. Each reader also receives a private RSS link that can be added to a compatible feed reader. Keep these private links limited to their intended readers. Haven includes a built-in RSS reader for following other sites; see the RSS explanation.

No. You create reader accounts on your own Haven and give access directly to the people you choose. There is no central Haven directory or social-network signup required for them to read your posts. Haven’s separately offered managed-hosting signup is not needed for a PikaPods installation; see the project overview.

Set up incremental backups to S3 in your pod settings for automatic nightly snapshots, or copy your files over SFTP. We keep whole-server backups for server failures, but they aren't a per-pod restore service, so your own backup is what protects your data.

No. You add prepaid credit and your pods are billed by the hour from that balance, rounded up to full hours. There are no contracts or minimum terms: delete a pod anytime and billing stops. Optional automatic top-ups keep your pods running without manual payments.

You do. And you're in full control. If you ever want to download, migrate, edit or delete your data, just enable SFTP access to your pod and it will be right there.

Yes. Haven is part of our Green Heart program, so part of the revenue from every deployed pod goes to the project.
